About the speakers
John Towner
John is Head of Origination for Legal & General’s Pension Risk Transfer business where he helps defined benefit pension schemes transfer risk and better secure their members’ benefits. Prior to Legal & General, John was an investment consultant at Redington and advised DB trustee boards on their investment, risk management and funding policies. He began his career in asset management at Bankers Trust in New York and then moved to investment banking at Deutsche Bank and Barclays Capital in London where he built up sixteen years of market experience.
Marco Lo Giudice
Marco Lo Giudice is currently the Local Head of Pricing at Tokio Millennium Re, UK branch, where he leads a team of seven people across catastrophe modelling and actuarial pricing. He started in Willis in 2006 and was instrumental in building awareness of the catastrophe models among clients. He then moved in the Lloyd’s market, where he contributed to the success of two managing agencies by implementing the models and developing validation processes. Marco holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Milan obtained while studying at the University of Bath.
