6:50-7:30 Breaking into the actuarial market- how to succeed in interviews – Presentation chaired by LMA’s Stuart Bullen and Samantha Chan with their recently placed students sharing experience in searching for their first jobs.

Speakers and panelists
Simon Yeung
Simon is a FIA with 20 years’ experience. Simon has extensive practical insurance experience including pricing, reserving, capital modelling and underwriting matters, having worked at a senior level in both industry and consultancy roles. Over the years he has consistently applied his analytic skills in developing original solutions to complex challenges.
He is currently a Director of the actuarial team at Mazars, primarily focusing on Non-Life insurance. Simon is one of the two International Representatives of the Education Committee of the IFoA.
Judith Tang (Panel)
Judith is a qualified actuary, specialising in Life insurance with 4 years’ experience in consulting and 4 years in the industry. Judith graduated from LSE with a BSc degree in Actuarial Science in 2010. Following graduation, she started her career at Deloitte, working mainly on Solvency II implementation projects for life insurance companies before moving to Liverpool Victoria in 2013 where she worked in the economic capital and methodology team.
She is currently a Senior Manager of the actuarial team at Mazars, primarily focusing on Life insurance actuarial audits and reviews. Judith qualified as an actuary in 2013.
Wenyu Bai (Panel)
Bai is a qualified actuary and senior Vice President at Redington Ltd. Bai is one of the team leads in ALM & Investment Strategy team, with a focus on pension endgame solutions and longevity modelling. She is also responsible for the business management side of the team, leading on profitability and efficiency improvement. Bai joined Redington as a graduate in 2007. Prior to Redington, Bai studied BSc actuarial science and MSc actuarial management at Cass business school. Bai is the mother of 2 young children and enjoys varies sport activities in her spare time.
